At Purpose in Motion Stride Academy, we believe girls grow by doing.
Sports and movement create powerful opportunities for growth, and we build on that potential by intentionally weaving character and leadership development into every Stride Experience.
Through age-appropriate reflections, dynamic skills and drills, and supportive coaching, girls put these qualities into practice. Stride Stars are encouraged to recognize and foster these qualities in themselves and others, and see how they apply beyond the program.
Learn Through Doing
Give her the opportunity to experience it.
Girls are encouraged to embrace new challenges, take initiative, and recognize their strengths while building on their abilities. Trying something new can become an opportunity to practice courage. Working through a drill can strengthen resilience. Supporting another girl can become an act of leadership. We intentionally create experiences that allow girls to do, discover, and grow.
Progress Over Comparison
Her growth is her own.
Every girl brings her own strengths, abilities, and potential. We encourage girls to notice their own effort, learning, and progress rather than defining success by how they compare with someone else. Challenge matters. Growth matters. Doing your best matters.
Leadership in Many Forms
There is more than one way to lead.
Leadership can mean using your voice or making space to listen to others. It can mean taking initiative, setting an example for others, or encouraging someone along the way. Leadership can also be making sure others feel included or persevering when something is hard. Sometimes, leadership is simply helping someone else reach a goal. Girls are encouraged to recognize and develop their own unique ways of leading.
Connection & Belonging
She belongs when she arrives.
Every girl is welcomed, valued, and accepted for who she is. Belonging is not measured by athletic ability, performance, or results. Through shared experiences, girls build friendships, encourage one another, and discover the joy of being part of a community. Each girl brings something meaningful to the experience and has a place to participate, connect, and grow.
Reflection Makes the Experience Meaningful
Give growth a moment to sink in.
Sometimes the most important part of an experience is recognizing what happened. We create opportunities for girls to reflect on what they tried, what challenged them, what they learned, how they helped someone else, and what they are proud of. Reflection helps girls connect the experience in front of them to the qualities they are developing within themselves.
Joy Is Part of How We Grow.
Challenge and joy can live in the same experience.
Girls can work hard, stretch themselves, learn from mistakes, and still laugh, play, celebrate, and have fun along the way. We intentionally make room for both. Because growth should give girls something to be proud of—and something to smile about.
